Now that I have successfully called you out, I'm glad you re-posted it because I've been thinking a lot about small-town life as well. I now live in a small town in a small country where people don't move around too much, and it took me a while to get used to how everyone knows everyone else (or is convinced they know someone else, or that they know someone who's related to the husband of...) Now, I can honestly say that I love the hell out of it. It feels so natural to run into someone we know every time we walk around town, and to hear about (and care about) car accidents on the other side of the country in the news, and to feel a loss every time someone in our county dies because they were so-and-so's great aunt ( ... )
