Diet

Jan 21, 2008 22:36

I'm starting a diet tomorrow. I have been thinking about it for a while. Crash diets / Low Carb / Commercial diets suck. I'm going to do it the old fashioned way. I'm going to only drink diet soda, bring sack lunches to school, do less snacking, and exercise. Hope this turns out good. If I don't loose weight now, it's just going to get harder to do ( Read more... )

it's a good idea
just make your goal to feel more healthy, and to be more healthy
it's really hard in the winter, but it's the best time because you want to strut shirtless in the summer

me, i've lost tons of weight... because i walk miles everyday, and i eat way less.... i'm getting really close to "normal"

i also stopped eating red meat/pork and i'm eating a lot more salad (cleans the intestines... helps you digest)
it's also important to get vitamins and all that

you'll do fine. just remember that you're actually jesus and if a black bunny crosses your path, kill it with broccoli

Good for you! You are absolutely right. The older you get the harder it gets because your metabolism slows down (and the older you get the more likely you will have health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure).

Your plan is correct. Jaron is right, too. Don't try to starve yourself. Just focus on "I want to be healthier". You should lose 1-2 pounds a week. If you keep that off, it will add up to a huge difference.

It is okay to splurge a little once a week. Just weigh yourself a couple of times a week to keep yourself on track.

You won't suffer, just think healthy. Food journals do help because they make you stop and think and be more aware of what you are consuming.

splurging is bad antibubbles January 24 2008, 19:02:52 UTC
splurging is bad

it's all about changing what you enjoy / habits

if you stop sugar and processed foods, they stop tasting good.

actually processed food taste like shit
and candy makes me pucker almost like it was sour

I'm eating less, and not eating snack food.
Diet Soda
No candy/chips

I'm in a gym class and I get most of my work out there playing basketball and stuff.

I'll be okay.
I'm not going to splurge either. That just makes it easier to say well, I'll just eat a little more snack food today, I'll just go back on the diet tomorrow. Thats not a good thing.

The best time to do it IS now, you are right about that. I wish so badly that I could have lost my weight back in highschool... HS would have been a completely different experience for me if I had. You will be so glad that you did it.

And like it said in that show, you could eat about 2400 calories a day and still lose weight. That is a bunch of food, especially if you are eating healthy stuff.

In the summer you can go on bike rides and walks with Matt, Carter, & I.
