Nice presentation. I realize this was kind of high on the pyramid, but the section on voice modulation and the desire to shout reminded me of a toy I saw about a year ago.

It was a 12 inch G.I. Joe figure, I think, that had a series of set phrases that it would say when the chest was pressed. What made it different from any other toy of that type though, was that the button was pressure sensitive. Depending on how firmly the chest was pressed the toy would either speak or shout the individual words in the phrase, and could transfer between the modes (which I assume were separately recorded voice clips) from word to word.

While it's an incredibly primitive example of how that technology might work (perhaps a quick-key keyboard short-cut could toggle between "shout" and "speak" modes) it could give someone working on the speech technology ideas.

I wonder whether edouard_stevew may be referring to the "Xtra Salty R. Lee Ermey" action figure made by Sideshow Toys: http://www.sideshowtoy.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=3402... )

Great job, Colin. Impressed with information and now I know that reading ahead is not allowed. Aug-com is a developing area and with your input, hopefully it will entice further development. Fabulous that you are concentrating on improvements. This is such a need. Debbie

What exactly does 24 hour supervision mean re ventilation? Does someone have to be in the room all of the time, or just in the house?
