A question about the future of the community

As many of you have probably seen, a number of fandom people have been leaving LJ recently. Several of the communities I follow have been backed up to Dreamwidth, or have relocated to DW, Tumblr, or some other place ( Read more... )

I'm leaning toward DW more than I ever have, but I don't (for now, at least) plan on abandoning LJ completely, either. More than anything, though, what matters to me is the people I keep in contact with and the comms, etc., that I enjoy, so it's likely I will keep both accounts for at least the foreseeable future. So, bottom line: I won't be leaving the comm, regardless, but I do think it's a good idea to at least have a mirror at DW so, if necessary, anyone (or any comm) can bail on LJ on short notice if necessary. :-/

Thank you for weighing in! :) Yeah, based on the results it looks like we'll be staying on LJ for now, but I will be backing up the comm to DW (once the importer's not so clogged) and that way we'll have everything saved and a place to go in case things go badly.

That sounds like a wise choice. I'm not overly paranoid on LJ *yet*, but it seems like each new round of TOS (or whatever) makes it just a bit harder to stay for a lot of people. :-/
