...frankly, I really would have preferred you tell me to piss off last night instead of pretending to listen to me then posting shit like this. You did the same thing with playing the puppet scene then posting about how it was a huge violation of godding rights. I'm really getting sick of you doing this. Either tell me you don't want to hear it, or at least have the decency to PRETEND not to be two-faced. It's just kind of slimey to unapologetically retcon yourself in order to make people feel like shit.
I'm allowed to have my own opinion on the subject, which in no way keeps me from wanting to comfort you when you're upset. I'm sorry you can't see that.
I think I can feel selfishly sad that a huge chunk of my childhood and inspiration is dead. And to claim he's just Joe Schmoe...no. He raised awareness for nature conservation more than any other person I can name. That is why I'm so sad about this, besides just being selfish and missing being able to watch Croc Hunter every Saturday at my grandparents.
You can say we didn't know him, but we certainly knew more about him than almost any firefighter, soldier, etcetera - most of those don't get publicized, so we don't even know to be sad. We can't mourn them all equally. It's like how we mourn 9/11 more than the Tsunami or Spain bombings - it's not fair, but it's how the human mind works. We focus on one thing because it's easier to connect with the guy you see every day on TV than the person you know solely as a soldier. And while pulling the 'but you're not mourning every cop!' card seems noble and righteous, it's really just patronizing.
Or maybe I'm over emotional and need to get a grip, but whatever. My view.
You're certainly entitled to your view. Just like I'm entitled to mine. Especially when it's posted in my own journal, behind a cut that warns people to not read this.
Anything you post publically is up for argument from the other opinion, you know. I never said you weren't entitled to your view, I just think you're wrong. ;)

But you're not going to get any sympathy if you claim hurt feelings because you read this, either. You chose to read it, nobody forced you to.
