Take that 1994!

I was slacking a bit with posts at the end of 2008 for all wonderful reasons! I finished edits on Book 1 and Book 2 is now at my publisher and I SWEAR it's the best thing I've ever written. After Klio's amazing hands give me editorial notes it I KNOW it will be the best thing I've ever written! It's a bit of a goofy parody of AND THEN THERE WERE ( Read more... )

Wait... you know Colleen, too? Did I somehow not pick up on this before? How is it that you live on the other side of the country, we've never met in person, and yet you SOMEHOW KNOW EVERYONE I KNOW.

The internet: Apparently just 37 people and a whole lot of porn and pop-up ads.

Hey, I moved back to NZ 14 days after meeting chris - It can work! And that was in the days before you could really even make out the shape of the person on the other end of that webcam. And also they weren't built in to the laptop, and there's no where to attach it to when you're sitting on the couch, and then your Maori flatmate drops it... So you know, you guys have a major leg up.

I know! Your story was actually one that helped me try this thing. Generally I'm the sort of girl who thinks Brooklyn to Queens is a long distance relationship! But this just felt really right, and with stories like yours it's hard to not give it a chance. I'm so so glad I did! I still think you guys win for most awesome meeting though. Ed was handcuffed to nothing when I met him.

I actually hadn't video chatted before him but OH MAN do I love it now! Skype is my BFF. Me and skype are going to start borrowing clothes and playing MASH.

holy wow! I remember seeing him at Karaoke! You guys are the freaking epitome of adorable, I can't even HANDLE IT!!
Eric and I did the long distance thing for about year and a half, it was hard but totally doable, the only requirement is you have to be TOTALLY AWESOME. Colleen, I do think I need to tell you that that is your middle name. You are amazing and deserve all the amazing things you are getting.

Man! It is so much easier to long distance date now thanks to technology! Back when Jess and I were dating all we could do was thump the ground really hard so that our Richter Scales picked up the vibrations which we deciphered like Morse Code [after moving in with each other we learned that we both, in fact, owned phones!]

Anyway, AWESOME! EXCITED FOR YOU! HOORAY! However, now that you are the official Current Online Cutest Kouple [C.O.C.K.] Jess and I have to step it up! We don't want an Adorabilty Gap!

Wow, Thanks! I can't wait to accept this award in person, just to see what it looks like. I assume it's tasteful..?

Screw what ed says below! There sure as hell better be a C.O.C.K. trophy! I would like to call dibs on displaying it in my apartment first. Do we get to keep the C.O.C.K. trophy after some newbies pass us in cuteness? I sure hope so!

Technology is friggin amazing. There is no way I'd be trying this even a few years back. Also woo-hoo's to macs and built in cameras. Occasionally when ed isn't around I make out with my macbook instead. I do love it so.

Soon as they finish making a teleporter there will be no such thing as long distance anymore. We'll all have cancer and we'll all be in love! The future is so beautiful!

I have taken three separate runs at Little Brother on your say-so, and I just can't get into it. What am I missing? You haven't given me a bum steer yet...

You know, this is one of the few books I've had friends disagree with me on that I truly TRULY love. The beginning was a bit hard...too much explaining and if you aren't a total techno geek like I am it might not be as compelling, BUT once you get into the full on conspiracy stuff and the romance it's totally worth it!

Okay new "favorite" for you from this year in the YA category: Adoration of Jenna Fox or Hungar Games (second one is much more likeable...but first got me thinking much more after it was done)

I've been a reading SLACKER all year, so if you have any good suggestions I'd love um!
