Confirmed my hotel room number, got 6 pounds of coffee, went to the gym, deposited a paycheck, set up delivery for lunch from a deli, checked on the status of my new clothes, dropped some shirts off at the dry cleaner's, went shopping for new shoes, went shopping for black candlestick holders, tried to squeeze money from my dad, got money from a friend who had to cancel a trip, canceled a hotel room, discussed politics, chose a story to submit to a fanzine, yelled at an artist working for me, bitched about insurance companies, did my laundry, washed the dishes, and devised a solution to the immigration problems of the US.

Oh, and I watched The Daily Show, Colbert Report, NCIS, House, Stargate Atlantis, and Bones.

And what did you do today? *iz ded*

Set fire to a llama. Slept in. I've been staying up late to read. Waaay too late.

I baked 7 dozen Bernard Callebaut double chocolate cookies. What did you do?

Went to the shop, read a bit, now I'm checking out this cool thunderstorm that's coming in.

I unpacked stuff and... well - had breakfast out at Pancake Parlour and wandered around Ballarat for a while.

was nice.

what about you?

Oooh Pancake Parlour. I wish there was a good pancake place close by. I miss IHOP. Went there a lot in the States.

Didn't really do much today. Lazy Sunday. Spent most of it half-asleep thanks to staying up too late finishing a book. It's hard to read when your antihistamines make you drowsy, but I was determined, dang it.

Went to the C Bar for lunch for my mother's birthday. Angsted about my future. Napped for two hours. The usual. You?

Slept in, ate, read a book, annoyed someone, walked it off, read some more, tried to avoid napping so I could sleep tonight. Now I'm typing in between house-shaking thunder claps.

Best part of Spring is the storms.

Is it very hot up there yet?

Yes, although my sense of what's hot is a bit skewed. It's been hitting 30 some days though. And I am so bloody pale and feel like my skin is burning up the minute I step outside! But I keep buying sunscreen and then losing it, so that's a problem. Can't wait for some rain and storms our way. What book/s are you reading?

At the moment, I'm reading the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik (His Majesty's Dragon, Throne of Jade, Black Powder War, Empire of Ivory and Victory of Eagles). I'm onto the first few chapters of Black Powder War now. It's an alternate history where the Napoleonic War was fought with dragons. Not my usual fare, but some friends got me onto it and I'm quite enjoying it.

I don't envy you a Townsville summer, especially after a year in England. I wouldn't want to live through that again at all.

I typed up a superawesome comment and then LJ ate it!

Also, I did a silly amount of pinging to a fake Sex-Education class before heading out for dinner with my dad, and then more dinner with three men in black suits. After the dinners, I went to a CD release party for the Recollection Blues Band-- the men in the black suits. Also, I bought a silly amount of second-hand books and the Music Edition DVD release of Lurhmann's Romeo + Juliet.

And now, as I am running on three hours of sleep in the past two days, I'm gonna go thud.

Thud!

Bah LJ. Always eating the good stuff.

Your fake Sex Ed class was very entertaining. Sleep good. Go, sleep, and give that kitty cat a hug for me.
