I'm so glad I had yesterday to just spend time with Lennon. I think it was important to improve the bond between him and I. We got our halty collars today. They're similar to the gentle leaders that I got when I got Maeve, but they don't tighten around the muzzle, and they attach to the training collar so I can't lose it on route. It's finally Sunday, and we don't have to do much today, thank Goodness, because we're all tired. Yesterday, they gave us our grooming stuff, a slicker brush, and a comb. It has been a pretty hectic day, with all the ups and downs a new guide dog team faces. My room mate Sandy said that Lennon whined all the time I was in the shower this morning. first, I have to tell you that Lennon is so different from my Maeveydog. From the beginning he's been so calm, needing small corrections here and there, but nothing major. I finally did get to meet my new dog after much nervousness and waiting with nothing to do. As I said in my last post, he's a yellow lab named Lennon, and he really is big. Well today's the day we finally meet our dogs. This morning we'll get to work with practice dogs, so we can see what it's like to work with a real dog. Well I did make it to GEB with no problems. No problems with customs, no problems with lost luggage, and I didn't get stuck with an annoying room mate. I got to GEB about 5 last night because we had to wait for some people at the airport. There are only 2 rookies in this class, and the rest are all retrains.
