So, I love school. My classes are completely worth the 20,485 hours of homework and conference work, I think. The campus is lovely, and New York City is amazing

I kind of had a similar problem and it was by luck, I swear, that my roomates and the girls that lived next door to me were all totally outgoing and all happened to click. Otherwise I would have been pretty much in the same situation because I really did nothing myself, just kind of let myself get swept along with them and then realized midway through first term that we were all actually great friends. My advice is to remember that it's only been a month. That sounds really trite and kind of obvious and all, but you'll know what I mean in, say...late October or November. SO much changes, it's unbelievable. Things changing over time is totally granted but I think, somehow, freshman year in college is like a time warp deal and things change extra fast. amelia - come up to garrison e!!!!! every night is a party, every night there are new people. we are a very fluid group. i keep thinking i need to call you, but my cell is out of batteries and i dont have your number written down anywhere. seriously, come up here around nine or ten, and people will be sitting in the hallway pretending to do homework. because that's what we do.
you'll make friends, don't worry. it took me what seemed like a long time to make friends at UTC, but then I realized I had been so busy perceiving that everyone disliked me I didn't realize that people really did, and once I realized that I was alot friendlier back, and then I was invited to parties and all became well.
