So I've got a game I've been working on for awhile that seems pretty cool concept wise, but is something that I feel ultimately isn't a me game. It's the Cthulhu in Space game I had discussed previously, but I'm not much of a horror gaming person really. So I'm afraid my lack of progress is due to not really grokking the concept

Let me think back and distill the essence of Lee, in his post-formative but still pre-professional early years, the setup scenes that are quickly glossed over in VH1's "Behind the Music" as "Lee involved himself in boffer-LARPs in the south, but after the break, opportunity knocks, and later, it all comes crashing down in an orgy of drugs and loose women."
(Okay that last part may not apply but it always seems to me that VH1 Behind the Music has some horrific crash fueled by drugs and loose women "after the break".)

encounters prompt stronger characterization
chance for PCs to backstab each other, a la Paranoia
"cute relief" instead of comic relief

Seriously, though - having only had experience with you in a LARP context, I think as long as it's plot-driven you can't go wrong. Write what you know.
