Today I went shopping. As I previously posted, I have gotten the new job at Child Support. But, unfortunately, my current wardrobe of blue jeans and ironic t-shirts proves insufficient for an 8-5 government job, especially one where I'm required to testify in court. Saturday was the big day. Graduation. The time when students become adults. When they stand in the smoky air with their diplomas and say "Sweet Holy Shit! What the Hell do I do from here?" Morrison, when he isn't caught up in his own weirdness, is becoming one of my favorite comic book writers. And All Star Superman, unlike the much mocked All Star Batman and Robin, is great. Well, the government's pulled a fast one on me. Not only am I not getting a Federal tax refund, I'm going to end up owing Uncle Sam about 50 more bucks. I don't qualify for EIC, and I have no real deductions to speak of. Wah. I was looking forward to the refund. Even if it's not for very much, it's a great feeling getting money back from the IRS.
