so for the second time in recent memory i've had a sale person knock on my door and then say to me,"hello, is your mom or dad home?"

I went to the store the other day looking for some black leggings and ended up asking someone where they were - her reply was:
"oh, you mean for girls like you?" and then tried to walk me over to the 14-16 section before I stopped her.

the first time this happened i said,"no" and shut the door. the second time, i don't think i got a single word out. it was all stammer and stuttering until she said,"i'll come back later."

i don't have this problem at work because i wear a suit, but my other problem while out and about in casual wear is that people see me from behind or from the side and then call me ma'am.
