SO i'm glad this week is over, but at the same time I'm super triste. All my Spanish 3 kid are making me feel guilty that I'm leaving them. It's triste. I had my first ever interview yesterday at Alvirne High School. I have to say, I was pretty impressed with myself. It seemed like it went really well. The modern language department head was a hoot and definitely made me feel welcome in the school. So this week went really well! I started teaching the past tense to the Spanish 2 kids and they seem to be picking it up! Also, we practiced using the imperfect to set the scene for a story and I had the kids set up the scene for their favorite children's story. They seemed to have a lot of fun! SO this week has been decent. Wednesday, Erica decided that it was time to do a formal evaluation of my teaching and overall it went pretty well. I mean, she didn't give me any horrible criticism. So I just got back from Parents' Night at KHS and I must say it went really well. I felt like I have actually gained some knowledge and respect as a teacher. Erica started the meetings and I took over from there. It really gave me peace of mind knowing that she trusted me enough to let me go and talk directly with the parents from the get-go. I think things are finally turning around in the life department. I've been on February break this week and it was awesome to just be able to enjoy myself instead of having to rush around like a chicken with its head cut off.
