The sudden illness with which she'd been stricken as soon as the strange man had touched her, and the vision that touching him had granted her had left her weak, too feeble and trembling to even get up, let alone drag herself into the building. [From the top of one of the houses, he managed to spot her fall next to one of the buildings. He hadn't quite met her before, but that wasn't important. What was important was how distressed she looked.

Well. He was an X-Man for a reason. (And you know, an all around good person). Getting to his feet, he quickly teleported beside and above her. The face of the Moon will now be replaced by his as he hovers over her, with his midnight blue fur and beacon-like eyes.]

Hey, are you okay?

[She's half-passed out when he arrives, her vision hazy, eyes blinking rapidly as the rain continues to fall. Who... who is... that voice...?

She looks up, trying to see as best as she can. Spots the face, the silhouette, the eyes.

And starts to scream again, with a voice already hoarse from crying, still loud enough to make her fear obvious.]

[Getting screamed at causes Kurt to jump back, suddenly as freaked out as she is. He throws his hands up to pacify her. But that just shows off his unnatural three fingered hands.]

Whoa! Whoa, it's okay, calm down!

[Rui shudders and curls up, arms wrapping weakly around her body to protect herself from the strange, glowing-eyed monster attacking her now. His voice might be less ominous, but the eyes... just like his...]

D-don't hurt me... please, don't... I don't wanna die...!

[Eyes had just been making his way back from the Battle Dome, intending to head straight back to his apartment so he could further avoid the ongoings of the village and not have to look at the ominous moon above them.

Unfortunately, he happened to overhear Rui as he passed by the community building and pauses, watching her carefully while he quietly comes closer to her.]

[Rui doesn't notice her observer at first, still having difficulty thinking coherently or recognizing her surroundings. She gives her slow, struggling crawl through the mud another try, nails digging uncomfortably into the dirt. Just... a little further...]

[A little further and she'll hurt herself doing it.

With a sigh he leans down so that the umbrella he is carrying provides sufficient cover for them both, quietly extending his hand to help her up.] Here.

[She's quiet for a long moment, unresponsive, until finally she shifts her gaze to look up at him, her expression hazy, visibly feverish.]

Wh... what...?

[Is this... someone here to help her? At last, she's not alone? Or is he just some kind of dream...]

[Joshua hadn't actually been at his apartment this past night - rather, he's been searching the village and the area around it in hopes of possibly finding a certain someone who's been missing lately. That search hadn't gone as well as he'd hoped, however, and by now, it's definitely high time for him to head back. He should at least try to rest up a bit, and with the weather taking a turn for the worse, staying outside probably isn't a good idea anyway.

What he wasn't expecting, however, was that on his way back to Community Building 3, he'd come across a familiar face, lying outside the building.]

Rui...? [He'd ask if she's all right, but... well, it's fairly obvious that she isn't all right. What in Aidios' name happened here...?]

[Most definitely not alright, not. Rui barely moves at his voice, but the familiarity of it makes her sob quietly, trying to push herself upright enough to see his face. It couldn't be... could it? There's no way she could have that kind of good fortune, after what had just happened.]

Jo... Josh... ua....?

[Joshua gives a small nod in response, then steps a little closer before kneeling down next to her. She doesn't seem badly injured, but... that doesn't mean that her condition seems to be all that good. If anything, it's the very opposite.

While reaching for his orbment - maybe Tear or Curia will help her a bit - he speaks again, maintaining a reassuring yet serious tone as he does.]

Can you tell me what happened, Rui? [He should try to get her indoors, but... first, he really needs to know what's wrong. If he can find some way to alleviate her condition at least a little first, it should make it easier to help her get to her apartment, after all.]

[Rui tries to huddle closer to him, drawing comfort from, at the very least, a familiar presence. Ever since she attack she's felt nothing but lost and alone.]

I... was attacked. Something came out of... the dark. It... its eyes...

[Remembering it hurt as much as the illness now plaguing her body.]

[Rui doesn't know how lucky she is. Mia's lost the Mask of Darkness and hasn't met her next one yet.

Running into a body on your way home is still less than ideal. She comes closer, crouching down beside Rui and taking hold of her wrist first, then reaching to feel her forehead.]

Hello? Can you hear me?

Rui stirs slightly at the voice, blinking blearily to try and clear the fog in her eyes. She can't see properly, can't think.]

H... help me... I-I can't...

[Bonus points! Mia has an umbrella. She holds it so it protects Rui's face, at the very least, from the rain.]

Shh, it's all right. [poor thing. The hand that was on Rui's forehead gently brushes away her wet hair.] Of course I will help you. Hold still.

[Ply Well will not be able to get rid of her illness, but it should do a number on the symptoms for a while. Hopefully, enough of a while to get her up and inside. And dry.]

[Oh, wow... whatever this girl just did, it felt weird. A nice-weird, though, not like... not like what that thing did. And at the very least it clears her mind a little, enough to at least get a better look at the girl hovering over her.]

[It's not until she's treated (as much as possible) and in bed that she finally gets back to the journal. She doesn't really want to answer, but with the fever and the whole unable-to-move issue, there's very little else to do.]

...Everyone... everyone's going to die...

As worried as he may be, this sort of thing isn't unknown to him. ]
