Watchmen and other things
I finally got round to seeing Watchmen the other day and I thought it was brilliant! I loved the novel and had heard so many people saying it was good but nowhere nearly as good as the novel, some people saying it was awful etc. etc. that I didn't know what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised :) Pretty much all the characters were spot on ( Read more... ) -

Things are still pretty crap at the mo to be honest. Not only is the job stress still very much evident, but I've got additional stress from one of the bands I play in. To cut a VERY long story short, some band members have left and its all got a bit acrimonious. The 2 that have left don't enjoy playing with us anymore, and fair enough, it's best ( Read more... ) -

About a year ago I had some pain in my right hip so my mum suggested I went to see a podiatrist. I ended up getting some orthotics which I wear in all my shoes and have been absolutely great, I've had no pain since. Today I went for my 'annual check up'. I was in there less than 10 minutes and I was charged £40. I find this absolutely ridiculous. ( Read more... ) -

Just had first folk metal gig since October...and boy did it show! Oh well, everyone seemed to enjoy it and no one noticed my little mistakes, which is always the case, but it annoys me because I have certain standards. Hopefully it will go better next week :) -
Snow
There's lots of it! I do find it amusing the way this country grinds to halt in a few inches of snow, but then again it so rarely happens that it kind of makes sense not to be prepared for it. So, yes, the castle! Well, it was pretty amazing really...a drawing room with an ornate Italian marble fireplace and a Steinway grand piano, a proper snooker room, a massive dining room, deer heads in the hall etc. etc. The weather was mostly crap but in some ways it made it so much cosier to come back to the fire after getting wet and blown about ( Read more... ) -

I've just spent a week in a Scottish castle!!!!!!!!! It had a billiards room and an aga and deer heads on the wall and everything!!!!! Will write more once I have slept a bit.... -
New Things
I have decided to try and make the most of this year to do things I haven't done before. I want to try and do at least one new thing a week, whether it be something big like go on a trip to visit a new place, or something small like try a new type of beer or food.
