That can be a difficult question to answer no matter how short it is.

Most people think they know, don't they?

They do. But sometimes I wonder if they really do.

I doubt it. I don't even think that I really know.

If I define it any more thoroughly I will have answered my own question, Cail Lantis.

I was...wondering why you asked.

Hm? Why do you ask that?

Because I want to know what other people think it means.

Ah. It's a powerful word, isn't it?

An important one, at least. People are encouraged to be strong, but sometimes that pressure leads them down paths that ultimately end up weakening them.

That... There are a lot of different kinds of strength, but [ he thinks of it for a second ] at its core, strength is just a form of determination...

Determination does not bend, though, does it?

It depends how stubborn you are. Knowing when to bend is a type of strength, too.

It isn't something one typically associates with being strong-willed, however. Determination is achieving one's goals at all costs, and so many people give more emphasis to the "at all costs" part. Achieving one's goals in the most painless and efficient manner does not really enter their minds, and knowing one's limitations is a necessary part of that.

You honestly have no idea? Or are you merely admitting your own fallibility?
