This reminds me of an exercise we did in one of my education classes on giving directions to a child on how to tie her shoes.

The exercise demonstrated how difficult it was to put a few directions into simple, attractive, clear steps.

This could also be an entry in a how-to book on the rituals of North American life. :-D

I had to do a similar exercise when I was in ed school too -- amazing how tasks we deem as simple really aren't when you take deconstruct them, step by step.

I've never been a PB fan unless Reese's are involved, though.
