This is the first baby step in a long process, today I picked up the packet, cost 15.00 to start the filing process, once I return the packet, hopefully this week...I will pay 255.00 for the filing fee and be given a court date. Once that happens, we will go to court and they will (hopefully) grant the paternity test...Then I have to fork out 550.

Oh, ok. I thought I had a missed a post or something in my last comment.

In regards to telling Katie. Why do you have to tell her now? I
wouldn't unless the "other person" plans on becoming a huge part of her
life.

And even then you don't have to tell her in now it will confuse her. Wait until she's a little older.

That's my unsolicited advice.

well, the thing is he already is a big part of her life, they live with him...and he's possibly the father of her younger sister, also. And I don't think I would have a choice in the matter, my ex being the wonderful person she is would just tell her probably anyway and never let me see her again.

I always thought he was her father too.. the hair is what threw me off ya know.. I know you'll always love Katie, and maybe, when she's older, by HER choice, not her mothers, you could become a bigger part in her life regardless of who her real father may be. As for telling her, I'm sure V has run her mouth enough that Katie may already think that anyway.. Talk to V and R about it and see how they feel about telling her, once you guys know for certain.
