[It's been a week, and Roland has kind of figured out the buttons in his house, but only kind of and he's almost trapped himself inside the rotating area so he definitely doesn't trust it. Guy's been sleeping on the couch. Not comfortable. Maybe he'll drag some pillows off the bed later, if he remembers to think about it ( Read more... )

[Don't mind if I do.

Pilot's not been nearly as motivated to get out of here as Roland. Hell, what's he got to go back to? Army life? No thanks. Chances are this is just a really, really weird lucid drug trip anyway so he might as well enjoy it.

He is one to wander though, and finding himself unable to sleep -- a fairly common occurrence -- Pilot comes across the hot springs.

[But! Work! And money! And he needs to check on his dad! And there are so many things to do!

Geez, Pilot, so irresponsible.

Roland's relaxing with his head back against the edge of the spring when Pilot arrives and speaks.]

Shit!

Roland sinks down in the water a little further, shifting uncomfortably.]

Don't sneak up on me like that.

[A lazy grin spreads across Pilot's face and he waves off Roland's grumpiness.]

My bad, man.

[Reaching into his pocket he pulls out a hand-rolled joint and lights it with his lighter, toking before he offers it over to Roland. Come on, just like old times in Iraq. Consider it a peace offering.]

[What's that? Old times in Iraq? Would those times be before or after he threw the grenade that mutilated Pilot? Mmm?

He shakes his head when he's offered the joint.]

Go away, Pilot.

[Before he drowns you or something.

The self-loathing is strong with this one.]
