[Given that Grapple has been hanging out with Patrick this week, it's safe to say that she is indeed a fan of drunk giants. The moment she enters the bar, Sal is noticed and earns himself a quick glance over.
As she slips behind the bar to grab herself a drink, Grapple speaks up.]
[Sal gives the source of the greeting a glance and then it's back to his glass of rum.
Great. Because Sal needs more women right now.]
Been here over a year. So's s'gotta be you jus' not lookin' hard 'nough.
[He briefly notes how terrible an impression he must be giving and lowers his head a little. He's not a rude person. He's the nicest person anyone knows. Honestly.]
[Grapple doesn't take it to heart. It's pretty obvious just by looking at him that something's wrong, and the fact that he's drinking alone doesn't really help to convince her otherwise.]
Just kicked into the third week, myself. Consider me a novice in the ways of the hellboat.
[Cracking open her Corona, Grapple sneaks Sal a glance.]
[And then because he knows that was rude, he amends himself. He's not going to let a stranger think he's a bad person, especially after what just went down between him and Riley. That guilt is only getting worse with every drink.]
A girl--I thought it was gonna work out with 'er, she jus' broke it off with me. 'Cause we din' have a... spark. She said.
[He pauses and sighs. He's not drunk enough to forget what happened after. And he can't quite believe he's confessing all this to a stranger.]
She's 'parently been seein' this other dude an' tha's wha's up fer real.
So I thought I'd dabble in alcoholism. [His dad was supposedly one, so why not? He takes a drink to that.]
I had to backdate it to before the halloween party--turns out there's more event stuff coming upconquistasalNovember 2 2010, 19:48:56 UTC
[Sal doesn't have to look, but he does anyway. Mikaela's voice is familiar enough to him that he knew it was her.
She still looks good. Much better than he does, at least. He's looking haggard and his hair is messy, like he's run his hands through it over and over tonight. Overall, he just looks tired.
He stares a good long moment before turning to face straight ahead.]

[The bag on her shoulder absently drops to the crook of her elbow as she moves to his side. Mikaela looks pretty tired herself - maybe a little drawn with some dark circles under her eyes, but in general, she's in relatively okay shape.
She hasn't seen Sal in a while - not since their last conversation, since he'd told her he was trying to make it work with someone else. She had no intentions of intruding on anything, but when he looks like he does now...
There's no way she can walk off.]
Are...
[Hm. 'Are you okay' seems like a ridiculous question - somethings wrong, that much is clear. It's not...her place to pry, though. So instead, she lifts her shoulders into a small shrug, and gives him a smile that doesn't meet her eyes.]

Sal nods his head just a little at the seat next to him.]
Rum? [He grabs the bottle just a few inches down the bar and offers it.] Or vodka?
