A Blacksmith Repairs and Forges

I know I said that Wimpy had died, but... I gave it another shot.

I noticed that in one of my reduced clock speed settings, I reduced the GPU power further which led to the display crashing sooner than normal. So I tried to leave the GPU power unchanged but kept the reduced clock speed (as well as reducing the clock speeds of the CPU.) So far it looks promising. I should try it further even more and see if it works.

Additionally, I have not yet tried the crazy idea of running League of Legends in my originally-company laptop. It doesn't even have a GPU, so I wonder how that will work out for me...

I have been... excessively window shopping for a new desktop build. Maybe I'm canvassing already? I also partly did that before, but now I have been thoroughly trying to write down what I think is a nice build given a certain idea of a budget.

I have also been researching a lot on hardware - things to consider such as airflow for cooling, CPU-GPU "compatibility", ideal amount of RAM, motherboard selection, comparison and value between/of AMD and Intel processors, and so much more. And I was surprised to learn that there are apparently a lot of YouTube videos showing actual game performance (FPS) while showing the computer specs! Some videos would even show, side by side, video game performance comparison between two hardware (or hardware setups), such as two computers having different GPUs but having the same hardware on the rest of the components.

The specs I have created are: A Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, a GTX 1060 GPU (6GB), 8GB of RAM, and an SSD and HDD.

Surprisingly I added a monitor to my build to increase the resolution of the gaming experience.

Part of my window shopping experience also involved looking at gaming laptops. And a bad habit of mine was comparing desktop prices with laptops of the same specs but using prices in the United States. If I added USD100 to the desktop build I had generated (including the monitor), it would produce a laptop of nearly the same specs. But again it's in US prices, and the laptop prices in the Philippines of the same specs were about... maybe 25-40% more expensive? That may be tariffs for us.

Did I also mention before that I want an office chair? I have been looking for something similar to the ones we have in the offices of Gamma Systematics with adjustable armrests, preferably second-hand as an excuse to "save the environment" by using one of the R's of environmental protection ("Reuse"). Apparently there are office equipment surplus stores with hordes of stuff. Did I also mention that I want a new keyboard as well? My current one is working fine, but I squished the W button due to excessive and frustrating in-game walking.
