These people are making me crazy. Not the politicos, the people who think drilling for more oil will solve our "problem" of high gas prices. At most, it will delay the high prices but really, is it such a bad thing to pay more? Look at the positives: Less driving, more public transportation, less air pollution, fewer deaths in traffic accidents ( Read more... )

This is EXACTLY what I've been screaming against. Cheese and rice people. Drilling isn't going to get us out of the energy crisis. We're too far past that. It's developing alternative energy forms that's going to save our arses ( ... )

First I would like to be on the record as saying
I just love Sprootles! Second I love people who get her all riled up. Sorry I do. She says things that at times I really wanted to say too, not always, but often. Hehe I loves you Ms. Sprout.
I guess we were lucky in Florida that Bush is afraid of his brother and wasn't allowed to drill off the coast of Florida while he was in office. Im worried that Christ and McCain don't have that relationship of fear. We have lost so much of Florida's coral, one good oil spill and we could lose more then just our coral but all the life that depends on it. I never really minded McCain but more and more I am starting to feel the same way about how he speaks to people, like he knows best and we are just stupid Americans who don't understand what is best for us or our Country. I am also finding Obama to be uplifting and hopeful when he speaks, but that is just me. I think Moses wanted to be vice president but he wasn't born in america so like Schawternager cant.

Thank you! That's what I think too, and sometimes I think I'm the only one. People driving less is a GOOD thing. Gah.

I tend to steer clear of politics, but I do agree with you on the concept of the people who think drilling will solve the gas price dilemma. It won't, gas will go up, just like everything else. On top of it, I wonder if those same people who are concerned about solving this issue realize how much it will cost for the drilling as well as the concerns that come with drilling more.

I'd much rather pay high gas prices (indeed, I agree, even with the long distances I'm driving this summer) than to worry about the environmental issues that go along with drilling. Call it the Geologist in me.
