HA! I did it! I have dystopia back. It was totally in a weird place that I found by trying to think of where it made the least sense to be. Take that, LJ!

Ok. Things are just going to work out the way they work out. The landlord wants $2400 for us to move in, essentially four months in advance. I said hell no, and also that I was starting to be uncomfortable with the landlord and would come by around four and either pick up my deposit or make arrangements to sign a lease. So, I'm still not sure what one is supposed to call the things that take you places for two dollars here. I've heard all three, and when I've used each, I get weird looks from people. Oh dear. The super helpful guy sitting next to me offered me advice about neighborhoods. When I asked him about West Philly, he said that it's a very different demographic from here. We left from Syracuse this morning and are now in Indiana, about 30 miles from Chicago in a Hampton Inn because the Kampground [sic] of America doesn't have night check in for cabins and we can't tent with the cats. When I was at the bogeda on the corner the other day, this boy asked my how I liked living in the ghetto. I told him that I'd lived in worse places and then we small talked about how this really is quite a nice neighborhood.
