my moms the same way. it makes me really upset when she acts like she wants a parade every time she does a standard mom thing. i mean it's not as though i don't appreciate it, but it's not like she throws me a party every time i don't get pregnant or some standard daughter thing.

there also isn't anything wrong in saying thank you.
if i gave my friend something as comfortable as pillows and they didnt say thanks id b pissed

all i have to say is.. you're not too cool and this entry made you sound like a spoiled brat. no offense..but damn if your parents didnt raise you for 18 years and send you off to college expecting you to be more independent than you obviously are. and damn if you feel like you're too good for a give and take relationship. if you stop giving recognition, you'll stop getting it. this is me being completely blunt and heartless, but maybe thats why your parents didnt call you on your birthday. i'm sorry and thats unfortunate but get over yourself.
