U forgot getting out Australia out of billions of dollars of debt and making it cheaper to live (aka gst)(while most is bad.. he's not completely bad). Otherwise.. Amen to everything else. Latham had good ideas.. real good ideas.. I would of liked to see what he did with the country.

javisst, he did a lot for the economy... but how ? by selling off Australia's assets. Telstra is just the beginning. by making a short-term profit, australia loses out in the long term....

Honestly, min vän, it's all skitsnack... Latham, i don't think, was the best choice, but he would have done more for this country than Howard. and, the irony of it all, Latham would have had nothing at all to do with the economic management of the country - that would have been up to Crean, whose background is in finance.

I do not know much about Australian government, though living in U.S. I know about "democratic" governments and the irritations that they bring along.

Even though you do not know me (and neither do I know you), I thought I would comment and gently ask you if I could add you to my list of lj friends.

i probably should warn you, at this point, that not all my rambling are quite so passionate, and many are often in foreign... but, friends are great fun, and the more the merrier :)

No, your musings don't terrify me, otherwise I wouldn't have gently asked. Just thought that asking gently is always better than asking rudely (I mean, you probably wouldn't have liked to receive a comment that said : "Add me! You idiot!")

It's okay about the foreign, I write in foreign sometimes in my journal as well, and I understand French pretty well. As for not being so passionate, life can sometimes turn mundane, unless of course you are a great genius or greatly insane (or both).

P.S. I don't know about Absinthe making the heart grow fonder. I never tried it personally, I just like the mystery of French poets behind it.

haha... you know you are probably right about the whole name calling thing... it's funny, some people get all upset about being called names...

and i think you'll find, if you have the intestinal fortitude to hang around long enough, that i am quite insane. i dunno about the 'genius' bit, but the insane bit, yeh that's me...

well, now i have to get back to work.. i have about a gazillion things to do, and there are still only 24 hours in a day (minus 8 for sleeping, minus 4 for eating, minus 5 for procrastination, minus two for reflection... that leaves you with 5 hours. hmm.... oh wait, make that 4, i've just lost an hour on lj... *sigh*...
