I don't know. I got it off a cracker jack box- thought it sounded smart. It seems to me, though, that a lot of people in this world could gain from the lesson that teaches them to put their thoughts into actions and vice versa. Take for instance people who smoke cigarettes and talk all day about how they want to quit, but never do anything about it. If they can't bring themselves to actually do what they want to do, then how are they ever going to do anything amazing with their lives? Tumbleweeds? In my hayday this place was a riot..and I was usually the one to start them..but aayyye, times have changed this old man..

It's because we don't really want to quit. We're just saying that to elicit some sympathy. What we would like to say is, "I smoke, I enjoy it, fuck you," but that would be socially unacceptable.

That would be more than socially unacceptable. It would be a misrepresentation of yourself, and an unnecessary rudeness. I've never really wanted to smoke from a logical standpoint. It is something we do when we dwell in the illogical realm of sleeping awake- something that ignorant and unintelligent people are comfortable with.
It all begins in the mind, and only when your body comes into harmony with your mind can you begin to harmonize with your soul.
I always surprised as to how language like this is meaningful to some. On the face of it, it makes no sense at all. Mind, harmony and soul are all ill-defined words so there must be some highly creative interpretation going on somewhere.
That's funny, because all of the religious people that heard that shouted for joy singing, "Veritas!" ..You're right. It makes no sense. Sometimes I just like to talk to hear myself :(
(I'm not challenging you btw. I'm just bored and practicing confabulation. I think reaching interesting and substantive conclusions here is like nailing Jell-o to a tree.)

And if the metaphor is to be harmony, what does it mean to be a soul in dissonance? Isn't harmony and dissonance a cultural fashion?

Are you conjoined to your parents or something?

If by mind you mean intentionality, then surely it is the mind that should come into harmony with the body rather than the other way around.
Further, I don't see why this is a pre-condition for harmony with the soul.

Also, I disagree completely.
