Maybe you just want to be old.

[your sister has come here to pester you]

[Hey there sis! And she can probably hear a groan because he didn't realize that part recorded.]

I just can't see immortaility, or even living far longer than a normal person being a benefit. It just seems like it would be sad to lose everyone you know while remaining alive.

Well what if you got to look like you do now, forever? Would that help?

Even if everyone else was the same, that doesn't stop people from dying because of attacks or illness. It would just have to become too much for one person to bear.

Perhaps you should share whatever advice you receive with Asbel. [She loves your brother dearly, but it takes far too much effort him to understand romantic intentions.]

He's more than welcome to listen in. But he's got to be doing better than Alex, right? [Since Alex is a huge failure as a father despite having a wonderful son and all.]

I would hope so. [It does bother her a little that Cecil's elder children speak ill of Alex, but she doesn't know as much about him as they do.]

Do you remember what you did before...?

[Yeah, Tear's not having to basically raise Alex's son. That is what frustrates Piers the most, really. Amiti is a wonderful boy that he'd be happy to have as his own and Alex neglects him.]

Not so much, it's been quite a few years. Also, I asked her on our first date, not her asking me.

I always suggest to show up at her door with flowers!

Do you have any suggestions for types of flowers? There are just so many.

[Yep, he's an idiot about romantic stuffs too.]

Well, roses are traditional, but I went with geraniums on my first date.

Over a hundred years? That sounds ridiculous.

[about as ridiculous as the dreams he's been having about people dying everywhere and being a prince, hah...and not gonna touch the question about dates yet. THAT'S AWKWARD.]

[And to think, he didn't even mention people turning into giant dragons and all.]

The whole thing would make a good fantasy story, but nothing more than that. The age I was implied as having was bad enough, the mother I seemed to have in the dream was well over two hundred years old. Nobody lives that long.

I imagine it wouldn't be so pleasant for the body either.

[nothing but skin and bones...creepy.]

It was strange, they all looked young.
