if you distance yourself now, you're gonna regret it later. especially if you go instate, then every1 will already have best friends etc and you'll feel left out.

ive felt and said the same things. sometimes i think i really did need that distance but not for as long as i thought i did. because you need some sort of that connection a little bit from everyone in your life, otherwise you start feeling disconnected against your own will. but if taking time is going to help you build trust and relationships with people later, then its a good thing. if you are wary of things, take a step back and clear your mind.
your senior year is full of a lot of emotions and i would suggest going through them all, but i waited until the last month of my senior year to really let go and take things in that i hadnt before. so i dont see anything wrong with that, haha. as long as you look back and feel ok about everything, then its all good.
Neeru, don't wall urself up. That's what I did all through Jr. year and I tell you, it SUCKED. Although isolation might make you more productive college-app-wise, the tradeoff definitely isn't worth it. Apart from that, IMHO, your lj pic is hot.
