E.g. I am in that weird, I-know-her-name-because-it's-on-her-door-but-we-never-actually-introduced-ourselves space with my sixth flatmate. Her room was empty for a while, except then I noticed NEW AND UNFAMILIAR DISHES in the kitchen, except then I think I ran into her at crazy o'clock in the morning when I went in search of a glass of water, only I wasn't wearing my glasses and in blurry-night-vision-mode she is very easily mistakeable for flatmate #5, and NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. WE HAVE JUST BEEN SAYING 'HI' SINCE.
Maybe I will suggest a group dinner or something for next weekend.
So awkward.

this has never happened to me before so alas i can't even properly commiserate! i am kind of a terrible hermit tho and would sometimes come home to find my roommate -- well, really... flatmate, i guess... though... nobody says that... in the states... sjdfklg -- chilling out in the kitchen with random people from my school / his major with whom i'd then have to make small talk every time i wanted to get a drink of water or make myself some dinner. ahhhh yeah that was a bit awkward. :D;;
