So, in two weeks I will no longer be employed by the spikey french place. Instead I will be working as a data entry clerk/ HTML coder for an on-line retailer of... just about anything
( Read more... )
This seems sort've similar to what Michael has... while one company signs his checks, he works for another company, though I'm pretty sure he's still technically temp-for-hire. He's able to take time off and such, though. I would do what ladytear suggests and just ask, it'll save a lot of headaches down the line. He's already been through both companies (check-signer and workplace) being bought out/breaking off from the mother company respectively and still hanging in there, so it'll be otay :)
You will enjoy the 9-5 after retail. You should also ask about things like making sure you're able to have music, what their policy is on breaks, etc. because the only drawback of data entry is the fact that it can get mind-numbingly boring and repetitive (save when they teach you a NEW TASK that after a week becomes mind-numbingly boring and repetitive) and you need some kind of outlet.
Even from company to company policies differ widely and if you don't ask upfront about things like sick days, time off or what, you WILL get boned later on down the line and I will point and laugh and say you had it coming for being a dumbass and not asking upfront.
DON'T BE A DUMBASS AND INVITE MY ENDLESS AND OBNOXIOUS STREAM OF SCORN. ASK.
