I came up with the idea for this story during the sga_flashfic "Earthside" challenge, but then I thought "Nah...."

Which goes to show that in this fandom, you should always write your flashfic ideas before the show writers get to it first. (You hear that,

Here via rec from thepouncer. I really enjoyed this, both for its quiet outsider point of view and for its insight into John and how he has changed. Also, the misunderstanding of "Get home safe" was the perfect ending. Lovely.

Thank you! I think of that line as a moment when it hits John (again) how much his definition of home has changed -- which does really fit a story about meeting up with the person who was part of that definition herself back in the day.
