If you can find it, there's an old military textbook, "A Manual and Methods of Psycological Warfare", put out by the Air Force around 1967. All the information about the ways and hows of propoganda, from a military standpoint. Many of the tried and true rules used by the Third Reich are used today by both political parties, for no other reason ( Read more... )

One thing that the Nazis, Communists, and Fascists did during the war really puzzles the hell out of me... They promoted motherhood. They all said that women belong in the home, giving birth to and raising children. Period. Women shouldn't be educated or intelligent, but they should be mothers and wives. They all had an award they started giving out to "Mother of the Year" or something to that affect, to whomever had the most children or whatever. The theory was that the youth was the backbone of their leadership, because the more children they had today, the more soldiers they would have tomorrow. Considering that was the propaganda all three groups used, it really makes me wonder...

Also - Children are a whole hell of a lot easier to indoctrinate and train to a certain political system than adults are.
