Yesterday evening I drifted off to sleep with one of my cats stretched out on her back beside me as I was scratching her tummy; this morning I awoke some ten minutes or so before the alarm, gradually becoming aware that I was still doing the same thing - but to my other cat, lying in the exact same place, and purring. <3

New Scientist has an article about an unexpected dip in sunspots recently, in which there is speculation that we could be heading for a new Maunder minimum for solar activity - i.e. like the one that occurred during 1645-1715 and which corresponded to the Little Ice Age in Europe.

I tried to get Avon to take this site's Aspie Quiz but he wouldn't oblige, curtly declaring it a pointless exercise and stalking off with his nose head held high. I do in fact have a lot of respect for that attitude, but... Not enough, it seems.

It's getting dark in here from all the snow that is piling up on the windowsills outside; not that I mind. I love this.
