Burgerville "policy" states that if I'm going to be late or call in sick I'm required to give them an extended warning of at least 3 hours. I used to be in management so I understand the position the managers can be put in if someone bails on a shift with little notice. Yet it seems I don't get the same courtesy that Im expected to give them

im sorry :( extra money is always good, but feeling like youre being slapped around and not seen as a tired HUMAN is another. are you guys still looking hard for jobs? when we get there and the time comes for US to try and find jobs, we'll hit twice as many places, and we'll be able to give each other leads. dont worry, we'll be there soon!

Damn.. I was sitting here thinking.. Burgerville.. I haven't seen one of those since I lived in Oregon. Then I realized that you live in Portland. *sigh* I miss it there.

I grew up there..

I lived in a small town outside of Forest Grove, then when I was old enough I moved out to Portland and lived on Burnside. It was one of the happiest times in my life.

You used to live in Portland?? I here by dub you RAD. I'm loving it here, well aside from the aforementioned post about my shitty work conditions. It's my first time living outside of CA and probably the only state I'll move to that's decision was based mainly on weather. I love rain.

and to answer your question, my pay is only $7.50 p/h so my overtime is only sub par. but rent is cheap so I can't complain in retrospect. :)
