I actually have time for once to read and review ^^;

I liked the pacing on this fic; it's an enjoyable read and it flows smoothly. Lee is adorably earnest, and Gaara is suitably weird and creepy :P I particularly liked the conclusion, because it left it very open. The whole evolution of the friendship is quite subtle, and feels them.

I have to credit maldoror_gw, because it was after reading her fics I realized it wouldn’t be that easy for Lee to touch Gaara, hence the sand-slapping scene.I actually got to the end of the fic before I saw this ^_^ Gaara's touch-free zone exists in a lot of fics - well, not entirely touch-free, since Kankuro grabs Gaara by the front of his shirt during the chuunin exams, but sufficiently touch-free where an impulsive Lee trying to give him a hug would probably end up with a few scrapes, or at least have to dodge

About Gaara's gourd, is it this part: Sitting there, without the gourd on his back, staring at the darkness... Lee couldn’t imagine staying awake when everyone else had gone to sleep?

I think you missed the 'without'? I couldn't figure it out at first. Is it something else I missed?

And regarding the dialogue... yes, I suppose I was trying so hard to get Lee in-character, that I overdid it somewhat. ^^ Will definitely edit some of it out.
