Am I getting too old?

This is a link that a friend sent me this morning. It's the new style in prom dress, apparently, and from what I hear, there's some issue with it in the media. Perhaps it's too "inappropriate," or something like that ( Read more... )

I was too old as a 16 year old then. Because I'd have felt the same way even back then.

getting too old, having a sense of what's decent...I think it all boils down to the same thing in the end.

Perhaps, but in all honesty, what would you have thought of a girl who wore that to prom back in high school?

Besides, would most high school students even be able to fill that sort of dress out properly?

Heh, it's like the stupid patch bikinis that were all the rage on runways at some point in the 90s. Luckily, I never saw anyone in the real world wear such an object - and the target audience was 20s and 30s female fashionites.

That prom dress, though, is just a whole barrel-full of sexuality and body image issues. They're marketing the damned thing to 16 year-olds.
