[ He watched the video but he's shaking his head and trying not to laugh. This seemed to be...better than everything that was currently going down right now before taking a deep breath. Good memories were better than anything that Cloud could come up with. ]
They looked really fun! I've ridden a dragon, but I bet birds are much softer. There aren't any here, are there?
[The answering grin on Lloyd's face fades into a frown.]
So it's not just me... I mean, I dunno if I've heard that exactly, but there have been some strange things. I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me.
[Opting not to comment via device when the one broadcasting was one floor above, Sephiroth rather decided to wait in the kitchen, as he was fairly certain Zack would come seeking some sort of munchies not long after. Thus the General was seated rather comfortably on one of the barstools at the island, day-old newspaper spread before him and steaming coffee mug in hand. Soldier yawned at his feet, sprawled out under his master's perch, tail thumping at the familiar step coming down the stairs.]
[Sure enough, Sephiroth's certainty paid off quickly; it was barely two minutes after the broadcast when Zack wandered his way downstairs, looking for a snack. The human pup didn't even miss a step as he saw his friend still awake at this late hour, too used to that by now to hesitate in surprise, and he simply made his way to the fridge. Had to something in here...]
Even you gotta sleep sometimes, man. Don't go passing out on the floor, okay?
[The pout, and the concern, were probably audible in Zack's tone as he continued to rummage, but finding nothing, he backed out and shut the fridge door, rubbing the back of his neck at Sephiroth's second comment.]
Yeah, well, it's kinda hard to sleep when there's a guy with metal shoes outside your window.

I'm alive. Reminiscing, Zack?

[Not that he actually seems to care; he likes those happy memories of his. They're good for something!]
I mean, it's not like we've got Chocobos around here or anything. Just...guys wearing metal shoes outside.

[ We're sorry, Zack. He still sounds amused. ]
...metal shoes? What do you mean by that?
Reply
[And the pup is cheeky as ever. Though he sounds a bit confused, too.]
Metal on stone...like dropping coins or something. [siiiigh.] I dunno. Guess I was just hearing stuff.

Chocobos are a bit excitable, aren't they?
Reply
More than a bit. Especially when they know there's food waiting on the other side of the pass.

[He chuckles, shaking his head.]
Actually... speaking of animals...

[Well. The bird variety; Cloud never liked greens. Oh, and have a headtilt, Larsa; pup is curious now.]
What's up?

You guys ride birds in your world?
[Still, though, fascinated as he is, he still notices Zack's unease there at the end.]
What happened?
Reply
Yep! They're real friendly, too. Most of the time...if you've got food or treats for 'em.
[Said with a snicker, though that soon fades and Zack shrugs a bit, still slightly uneasy.]
Thought I heard something...like a guy wearing metal shoes and walking outside. But there's nobody there, so....

[Big yellow birds...very hard to miss. Same as Zack's sigh of relief that he's not just hearing things and going nuts.]
Doesn't seem that way if it's you and me at the same time, man. What else have you heard?

Can't sleep, Seph?

[Glancing up, Sephiroth arched an eyebrow.] I might ask you the same, pup.
