Weather, schools
For the past week, I feel like I'm back on the East Coast. It's been cloudy, rainy, snowy, cold. I haven't seen the sun since, like, yesterday. I think. No, it must have been the day before. I love this quote about Al Gore from the New York Times:
"Why would he run for president when he can be a demigod?" said Representative Rahm Emanuel, Democrat of Illinois, who was a top aide in the Clinton White House. "He now towers over all of us because he's pure."
I don't think he should run. He's got more important things to do. -
Balloons!
Fall is in the air! The mornings are freezing, the days are hot, the "Spectator Parking Prohibited" signs are up on the side of the interstate, and the balloonies are in town clogging the streets with their RVs. Time for International Balloon Fiesta, the largest balloon fiesta in the world!

Movie
I just saw Donnie Darko. I had heard it was a cult hit. I'll definitely give it 5 stars. Two viewings were necessary to understand it - not necessarily the plot bits, but the tone and character motivations and the little bits that point towards the unexpected ending.
