Back bay mission
John and I have been at Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, MS, for a week now. We are here for three months working with our church doing disaster recovery and emergency services for the no/low -income people. What a day, oh what a day
My feeling of freedom and hope I felt during the first few weeks after losing my job has been replaced by frustration. I haven't felt so powerless about my future in a long time. For those who haven't heard yet:
I got laid off a few weeks ago. Still looking for a job. Not sure what I'll be doing when I do finally get one. Surveying pickins are very slim. Other options are CAD drafting, GIS technician, or other.

Kitten update
The kittens are very much at home now. They've settled in wonderfully and as of last weekend, they've gotten all their required shots and are fixed and microchipped and licensed. I've named the black female Matilda and the male grey tabby Charlie. Charlie just looks like a Charlie and he is sweet like the character in Charlie and the Chocolate ( Read more... ) -
Kittens!!
I was going to post pictures, but Picasa does not seem to be working. Today is the last day of my kittyless life. I will be adopting two kittens from a friend of a friend who had a couple of feral cats give birth to two litters in their yard. One litter had two grey tabby kittens, one grey kitten and two black kittens. I will be adopting one ( Read more... ) -
