This article was brought to my attention yesterday, but I didn't read it until today. It really helps to clear up some of my thoughts (and concerns) about John's obvious absence from this season.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the Biggie storyline this season and I can't wait to watch what happens next :D

I'm not taking the "John is dead" thing as well as you are, and it's not only because I'm a Magnett shipper, John is one of my favorite characters and I love every single episode he is in. One of my complaints about Sanctuary is that John and Tesla don't show up enough, guess I have to change that to Tesla doesn't show up enough :(

I really hope there's a 5th season but with SighFigh's track record, I'm not getting my hopes up

I was more or less not surprised either. I did hold out a wee spark of hope because I couldn't believe that Amanda and Chris's chemistry would be wasted...but I guess it will be. I'm not going to stop watching of course, because I adore Magnus and I do like the banter between her and Tesla. You're right about Will though...he can't fill a space that huge. I would be devestated if there isn't a 5th season. This season has been really good, if not a bit confusing so I think it needs to go on. My wee spark is not completely gone. I think that's just my Shippy heart not giving up :)
