[The ruins of a destroyed City… no, not just any City…
This was ‘The City’ Eagle decided as he walked past the remains of the fountain that once stood in the center of the City square.
What had happened to this place? He didn’t remember anything this devastating happening! Where was everyone? Were they…

Eagle looked down at the device he wore on his arm, trying to get a signal… but… going with my reoccurring ‘tech doesn’t work in dreams’ theme… the device was totally dead. ]

[The stillness might have been one of the most unsettling features of this nightmare. Aside from the aerial display, and subsequent booming nothing was stirring at all. This was leaving the commander with nothing but his own thoughts for the time being.

How long would it be before, something, or someone changed everything.]

[Suddenly finding herself running through the barren remainders of The City was nothing Umi was ready for. What had happened?? Where was everybody?

Upon catching Hikaru's message on the Network -- the ONLY message available, which boded nothing good -- the Water Knight quickly traced the location of her best friend through its signal and rushed there.

Upon arriving she shouted out for Hikaru to hear her.]

HIKARU! I'm here! What happened?? ...How come the whole place--??

[But she stopped on her tracks at seeing the other girl: a mirror image of the Flame Knight Umi believed she remembered vaguely.]

...You...

[At the sound of another voice lilting over the din of swords clashing, Nova jerked backward and narrowed her eyes, locking onto the blue knight]

No. It can't be... I KILLED YOU!

[Her voice cracking as she practically shrieks the word "killed". Nova's first instinct is to dive for the other knight and silence her permanently this time but.. she catches herself.]

[4th Wall FTW XD Slowly, she glides over to Hikaru, gently turning the girl towards Umi. Hikaru is still and statuesque. Her eyes distant, empty.]

She won't be able to hear you... [The pink-haired girl cackled making no attempt to hide her amusement. Leaning in close to Hikaru, she hugs her from behind, leaving a chaste kiss on her cheek]

She belongs to me now.

[Releasing the flame knight from her grasp, Nova summons her light blades once more]

So just die already!

[ The City looks terrible - a mockery of the beautiful place it had been. She just stares for a long moment, and then her hand drops to her side and rests on her sword. She had the feeling it might be necessary. ]

Hikaru? Hikaru!!

[ She's shouting. There's no point in trying to be subtle when something like whatever did this is lurking around. ]

[Though being subtle may have kept Nova from finding you so quickly. You've infiltrated her personally playground and she's not happy about it. At first Presea may catch some lighthearted giggling that feels like it's right beside her right ear, but nothing is there...

Then the same event occurs on the other side. Whatever it is, isn't holding still long enough to be seen]

[ Giggling? Presea spins around quickly but doesn't see anyone. ]

Hikaru? [ More uncertain now. ]

[A heavy silence settles down around Presea, even masking the pervasive thunderstorm. Moment, after anxious moment passes with nothing]

Hikaru is no longer here... you're in my hands now.

[ He can't be the only living person here - there's no way. He doesn't even remember how the City got to be this way, or where everyone might be.

Rather than panic or start calling out to people, Clef merely finds some high ground and waits, watching and listening. ]

[There isn't much to see at first, beyond the lightning shooting across the sky, threatening to draw ever closer to the earth below. The sound of thunder rolling breaks the silence everyone now and then.

But THEN...

There's something else...

Another sound resounds of of what remains of the City...............

It's rubble that has lost it's battle with gravity.]
