*not long after Lana lines up, newbie defense attorney Calisto Yew enters the cafeteria. As soon as she spots the detective, she strides up to join her in line, her heels clicking loudly enough that her presence is made known...but she makes it a point not to greet the older woman. She casually checks her make-up in her compact mirror*

*doesn't notice Calisto's arrival--rather, doesn't notice the identity of the person behind her, as preoccupied as she happens to be with her notes. The line moves up slowly; when it's her turn to speak to the person at the register, she glances up*

I'll have the pasta with the cream sauce, please. Oh, and a large coffee.

*loudly*

Phwwh...!

*her hands pause momentarily, en route to retrieving her wallet, at that stifled laugh behind her*

Oh, it's you.

*carefully counts out the bills and coins for her meal, handing over the amount to the person at the register*

Make mine the apple pecan salad with balsamic dressing -- on the side.

Some of us need more than just a salad to sustain ourselves.

We also happen to work off our calories on the beat.

*takes a tray, and moves it down the counter. She's definitely not interested in waiting to chat with Calisto, so after she receives her order she moves off to the tables with her meal*

*gets her meal order and follows Lana riiight along*

Ahah! Sure, but I'm warning you... they go straight to your thighs.

Are you representing someone in court today? How is the trial going?

*seats herself across from Lana and crosses her legs*

All business with you, huh?

Today I'm representing McInnes in the voluntary manslaughter case... so I'm having a light lunch. It won't take more than an hour.

I've read about that case. It was a very unfortunate situation.

*twirls some pasta in her fork, considering*

You're pursuing a full acquittal?
