In honor of the soon to be TD4/TS Colin, tonight's Drink du Jour was the classic Hurricane. Alas, I am now entirely out of my homemade Passion fruit Syrup, and my vines did not produce any fruit this year, due to the extremely cold winter.

As a result, I might need to resort to acquiring a commerical syrup for the next batch. Let the weeping

I'd have one in your honor, but we can't get those tropical drinks up here. Well, until we schlepp down to Margaritaville (now open in Niagara Falls!!) in a few weeks. I don't plan on being sober, but I'll make a note somewhere to hoist one in your direction.

i think i am afraid... wasting away again in the falls just doesn't scan right. though knowing a few folk from the falls, they would say that wasting away was an apt description of growing up there ;)

island oasis does some amazing fruit bases for drinks. i'll have to see if they do a passionfruit now :)

Hmmm...I shall have to look into it. Was contemplating Trader Tiki's small batch syrups. Could also get a passion fruit puree and whip up a batch of syrup.

But I'm fussy. And I KNOW my passion fruits are organically grown. Still, the Hubby loves passion fruit, and I can't see him waiting a whole year for more Hurricanes and Passion Fruit Sodas.
