Happy Spring!
Took today off from work to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. As a gardener, this has always been my favorite time of the year. Just waiting for the sun to come up, so I can get out in the yard and get started with my long list of chores. Later, as a reward, perhaps some new annuals from the local nursery ( Read more... ) -

New Year Thoughts
Last night, Sam and I wrapped up the old year with a delicious Highland Fondue -Cheddar cheese, milk, whiskey, onions, served with french bread, cubed apples and pears. Earlier the Kittens and I had a scene and then I snuggled in the new year with Pookie ( Read more... ) -
Finally, a garden update
So, I've been busy. Very busy. In addition to it being the busy season at work, Sam and I have been lobbying the city and the power company to NOT run transmission lines through our yard. As expected, this takes a great deal of time and effort ( Read more... ) -

In honor of the soon to be TD4/TS Colin, tonight's Drink du Jour was the classic Hurricane. Alas, I am now entirely out of my homemade Passion fruit Syrup, and my vines did not produce any fruit this year, due to the extremely cold winter.
As a result, I might need to resort to acquiring a commerical syrup for the next batch. Let the weeping -
My moment of Zen
Was out watering the new butterfly garden plants, with my back to the Pool, when I heard a loud splash behind me. Thinking one of the Royal Palms had dropped a frond in the Pool, as they are wont to do from time to time, I turned to fish it out, only to be greeted with this sight:

The Garden, a year later
rhodielady_47 challenged me to write a follow-up to my garden post of last March 28th, "A Good Day in the Garden", chronicaling changes to the garden over the past year. While thunderstorms kept me mostly out of the garden today, I did spend yesterday out there, and came back with some observations.
