When I was coming downstairs and leaving for work, I noticed a small mammal that I didn't own skittering across the floor. Initially I shook my head as I saw the valiant cat run away from it instead of being some sort of predator bred for catching rodents over thousands of years. I walked over and took a closer look, and hiding in the kitchen

also on the same note of opossums and cats:

our outside cat has been missing for a day and a half now. as eric went out to search for him, he ran across a small opossum that generally feels free to help himself to the food we leave outside for Oliver. none of the outside cats attack the opossum either, so perhaps the cats and opossums have created some sort of peace pact that humans are entirely ignorant of??

I don't know. What I do know is no one ever got him out of the house, and he pops out from under the couch in the computer room to stare at me with his beady little eyes, make some noise, then run away to relative safety from stick poking.

you should raise him and train him to do cool stuff!

If I can get him close enough to me to pick him up, he's going to be an outside cat.
