...things have not been going well for me. At the tail end of August Kyree suddenly got a job teaching k-5 music in Lorain. So we found a great place and moved up. I've applied to a few jobs and otherwise been rotting at home. I have an interview for substitute teaching next Tuesday, but have otherwise heard nothing from my applications. I've ( Read more... ) -

A couple weeks ago I auditioned for the Marine Bands, and I passed the audition! Which was awesome. Military music is highly respected, it's a solid, steady paycheck, and just a great experience in general. The Immediate
I got an e-mail at the beginning of the week about a Marine Band opening. I haven't been very interested in military music because I don't see myself in a military lifestyle. Considering I have no real future plans, I said, "Why the hell not?" My biggest fear or skepticism is my ability to handle the physical side of things. Boot camp, primarily. ( Read more... ) -

He was still falling. The heart-pounding shock of empty air and the pull of gravity had long since faded. The air was cold and constant. You could get used to anything if you faced it long enough. Just a couple things for today.
Kyree and I did some major cleaning of the downstairs. We sorted all of the music we had accumulated/unsorted over the school year and also took care of various loose bits and odds and ends. Went shopping for foodstuffs.
I'm tired, though it doesn't feel like I did much today. -
