thanks. well its not really a true story. i mean, it never happened.. i just took different elements of that time in my life and put them in a more appealing order.

Yes...but that's the true art of writing. Tim O'Brien (author of that great book The Things They Carried) says that a true story always has fictional elements added to them to make them better, because the truth just sucks. (those aren't his exact words, and of course he's talking about war...but I think great writers do this to an extent!) It's still a beautiful piece, and I might borrow your idea of inserting song lyrics to bring attention to certain details in my own writing....if you don't mind. :)
