The Tenth Night [Action]

Dec 10, 2010 14:25

[To the surprise of no one, Batman has been hard at work in his room with a series of chemicals and scientific equipment.  Next to him are several pieces of equipment, but prominently are the little spheres he usually stores smoke in.   He appears to be tooling with creating compounds to go into them, if you're scientifically minded and in his ( Read more... )

[ It's a little ways into the forest that Saix can be found, in a thicket of trees not far from community building one. Wrapped up in a plain set of Luceti-issue winterwear that does not impeded his movements, he's just finishing up with his own business: for a split second there's a massive weapon in his hand, but it vanishes as he turns back toward the village, disappearing from his grip with a flash of harsh white light.

He's leaving behind the battered remains of several trees and a boulder, his head lowered as though deep in thought.

Things on his mind, perhaps. ]

[Batman waits for a moment before investigating the remains of those trees and the boulder. Definitely the work of that individual and his unusual weapon. Such feats were fairly common here, but it was still worth investigating. Never know when trouble might rear up.

After a moment, he keeps to the shadows and follows Saix a short way at least, to see if he can get any idea of what he was doing. There was a barracks and a Battle Dome for training... so he was probably blowing off steam. But for what reason?]

[ Saix makes a point of avoiding the more populated areas as he makes a circuit around the village - once or twice he becomes aware of someone else on the path and chooses a different direction, skirting company and questions. His goal seems mutable, apparently walking simply for the sake of it.

A man without a purpose.

After a time, he can't help but recognize a little touch of darkness on the edge of his senses - someone's heart? But who here in this happy little town with its heroes would have darkness in their heart?

Saix will do the reasonable and polite thing: simply stop and look over his shoulder, searching. ]

[ He's the butler; eventual bothering is like his forte. Alfred's just going to bring your tea in now, because you can't escape it. ]

Good afternoon, Master Bruce.

[Eventual bothering is what has kept Bruce relatively sane all these years. His voice remains serious, but of lighter tone. Having Alfred around has actually done wonders for his nerves.]

Afternoon, Alfred. How has everything been going for you today?

I dare say things are going along well. I've even gotten through the majority of the household chores without bloodshed or being forcibly relocated. [ There are times when a man must count his blessings, you see. ]

I do hope that the same can be said for yourself.

[This woman here, well... in the dead of the night, Mr. Man, you might find her sitting on one of the rooftops of the buildings, just smoking her a nice cigarette. She's looking up at the starts, but snorts after doing this longer than a moment and then goes back to his original plan of just sitting there, apparently restless.

Oh and she might notice you. Paranoia, years of skills, you know]

[She might notice. There's a quiet, subtle woosh as Batman touches down on the roof from grappling up here. He hasn't yet paid Nina any attention... given he was on the other side of the building when he grappled up here and didn't see anyone else up here just yet.]

[A woosh, huh? That might as well have been a surround-sound for her. But she makes no notice of hearing that. After all, she might have imagined it- but she does afford herself a small glance over her shoulder in the direction of the sound. At the same time, she morphs her hair.

Gone is the bright red, in is the dark, camo-ing black]

[ The problem with Batman's schedule is that it's this crazy person schedule that makes it hard to figure out when someone can bother him. This makes it a bit hard for Wally because... yeah, Bruce is around, but who knows when he'll have a chance to run into him and say hi.

This is why he's running around at night today, the familiar blur of red and gold regularly stopping amidst buildings and trees. Whenever he stops, he looks worried and yet hopeful...

This is a good night for bothering Batman, isn't it? ]
