Firefox update - question

So, I upgraded from Firefox 2.0 to Firefox 3.0. I'm sure it's more secure and all, and that's great, but I really dislike the new autocomplete function on the address bar. I'm accustomed to using that for accessing things (I generally prefer typing to mousing for repeated tasks), and it has become much more difficult. The address bar now ( Read more... )

I found this via Hack-a-Day a week or so ago, and I think that it'll solve things you didn't even know you wanted to change: about:config hacks for FF3

there is in preferences an option to turn off remembering visited pages. under privacy. I think that would do it. er... I'm still on 2.0 though. So, I don't know.

have you got things working how you want?

I just updated. I wound up, after a while playing with the config stuff, getting this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6227 which gets rid of the ridiculously large text issue.

I haven't figured out how to make it stop bringing up everything with an 's' in it, for example... have you?

I haven't found anything to fix the anything-with-an-,s problem yet, although it does seem to be capable of learning, and eventually it starts listing first the things I choose most frequently... which I'm not sure I'm comfortable with, really.
