I know exactly how you feel. I had to give up everquest 2 for college 5 years ago, because I was spending 10-12 hours a day at it. Alot of people who game but don't do MMOs don't understand that there is an obligation there, and that real people are depending on you. You're going to be floored by how much time your day actually has now.
Faction change > transfer to Kil'Jaeden > give all of your gold to Nantale :D
Just kidding. I know exactly how you feel. I just transferred to Kil'Jaeden to join a higher end raiding guild and I'm regretting it quite a bit, considering that a few of the guild members, and the leader a bit "extreme". On ToGC25, on Gormok, people "weren't" switching to the Snobolds and a member in raid chat said "I'm fucking sick of you guys not switching. KILL THE SNOBOLDS YOU FUCKING FAGGOTS." I was like "................" I don't pay $15 a month to get called a faggot. If I wanted that, I'd go back to high school. I've considered taking a break from WoW, I just donno what I'd do in all of my spare time until the weather gets nice :[
Ugh, I just wish my boyfriend was saying these words x.x
He's.. discustingly addicted and our lives have gone downhill ever since. Never cleans, never helps with cooking/chores, no sex drive, no interest in going outside.. just raid raid raid.. Fuckit.
Nothing against WOW, I play too but only ever other day and only for like an hour. He tries to force me to play but ever since I hit 80 the game has just gotten dull.
Our guild leader is on honestly 24/7.. Anytime you are on, he's on. He often complains about his dog shitting on the floor because he wont' even leave Warcraft to let the poor thing outside. THIS is another reason why I hate when people are so damn addicted.
Yeah.............. like and I was close to becoming that way. And even just -reading- your comment made me just..... omg like wtf.... and I was close to being like that?
I find WoW to be significantly more palatable when played casually. I don't think I could handle being in a hardcore raiding guild. My guild is laid back enough that I don't have to attend every raid, I can just...log in, do what I want, sign up for the raids I do want to go to, and chat with friends.
I'd definitely say if it's stressing you out, change is needed. When a game stops being fun and starts feeling more like work, then that's a problem. I've been there with WoW before and definitely felt much better when I started approaching it with a more relaxed/laid back attitude of "I'll play when I feel like playing, not because I feel like I have to play."
Yeah, and the past week I've tried it out. Things seem to be much better; I find myself a little less agitated and a little more free. It's hard not getting all that shiny new gear when you're so used to it though. So at the same time it's depressing.
But gear doesn't matter in the real world! >_> OR AT LEAST I HOPE NOT!
